After a home energy audit with another company and the debacle of  setting up a time frame for the work fell apart, I emailed 4 companies on the approved contractor list of the Denver Energy Challenge around December 14, 2012.  I told them specifically what I needed and the time frame I needed it done by, FAST-IR was one of two that responded.   The first company spent maybe 3 minutes in the attic and looked at the outside vents and then started putting together a bid.  The bid received was the highest one and I didn't feel comfortable as this person tried to tell me that putting insulation over the garage would just make it colder and I also didnt feel that 3 minutes in the attic was an adequate representation of the time needed to ascertain what needed to be done. 
Then Rick with FAST -IR came out and climbed in the attic, looked over what needed to be done, talked with me a bit and then because I needed to get to work, took my email address and said his son, Seth would email me later in the day with his bid.  As I work in a call center, it is difficult to reach me on the phone and I cannot access my home email address from work, so we did a lot of communicating via my work email address as my cell does not have internet access.  And then I would go home and the emails would follow me home; it was really nice to work with a team that was able to communicate with me in the same manner that I was able to.  So many people insist on phone calls and I truly dont have that kind of access at work.  

I was able to schedule Rick in for an estimate, get the bid, schedule the work and have everything completed before Christmas for a lower price than any other company had quoted me.  This father/son team were great to work with:  kidded around with each other as only family does, they seemed to enjoy the work, tried to get my skittish dog to come to them, etc.  They answered many questions, explained everything, sealed all the air leaks including one across the top of the shared wall between the living room and the garage, made suggestions for other energy related issues, followed up on the Xcel rebate to make sure I got it.  If I have my druthers, I will always work with a small company.  The customer service was above and beyond!"

The inspection you did for us was very professional, and helped us identify why, precisely, our house had such cold spots. Per the recommendations of the report, we had the attic insulation redistributed and upgraded to r60, and insulated the crawlspace under the family room, as well as having the blanket in the bedroom wall put back into place. These changes greatly decreased the coldspots in the house, and made the house much more comfortable during the subsequent sub-zero cold-snaps.
